This project was based in Cambridge for a private hospital – Spire Lea Cambridge. And continues the work we have been doing in recent times for hospitals across both Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
The material used was consistent with the Spire Hospitals across the UK and is both practical and aesthetically pleasing. The existing flooring needed a vital upgrade, as it had run its course. And with close conversations with the powers that be at the hospital, we were able to come up with the below.
Before
After
The material we used was Vinyl Sheet for this particular project. This was chosen because of the following benefits of Vinyl Flooring –
- Vinyl flooring is durable and resilient for where there is often lots of footfall – and as such, this floor is the most relevant in terms of practicality for this hospital.
- Vinyl is very hygienic and water resistant. And as such, again the relevancy from a practical element for a hospital setting is very relevant. There is no real place for bacteria and mould to rest within either, again making it very hygienic and free from any nastiness that can cause allergies.
The project was carried out over several weekends and was difficult at times. The areas were the corridors to the 5 theatres and access was very limited, due to the operations taking precedence. However, we did manage to complete the project well and everyone associated with the hospital was very pleased with the outcome.
